Cruelty Free Shopping Guide App Reviews

Burts Bees may not vegan, but they ARE cruelty-free. The PETA website has a complete list of companies (which includes Burts Bees) that have undergone very stringent scrutiny. If because they are owned by Clorox, you dont want to give them money, then good luck to you. These big companies will inevitably own SOMETHING that you buy. Be realistic. This is for people who dont want to use specific products that were tested on animals. Whoever said that Nivea and Almay are cruelty-free needs a wake up call. They can put that on their label as long as the final product wasnt tested on animals, and they are not found on ANY of the complete lists. As for the app, its not even close to a complete list.

Great app! Im doing a report in school about animal testing and since Im an animal lover Im totally against it. Because of this now Im going to try my hardest to use only vegan products now and this app helps but I have an Idea that could maybe make it better.. What if you added a bar code scanner so that way if youre not sure if its a vegan product, you can just use a quick scan and bam! Theres your answer!

This is a great app with information from a reliable and well known organization. The app is very easy to use and even has links to the product web pages with an in app browser. So useful; I love it.

The list of companies from the leaping bunnys website and app do not match

The list is handy, but Id love to be able to see places I can buy these products based on my area code, plus some quick bullet-point lists of positive practices for each company.

But can you also make an app that tells us which places ARE cruel? Ive just turned to veganism, and while it is helpful to know whats good, it would be INCREDIBLY helpful if I knew what to avoid!

I wish this app updated their information for other brands like Lush,Eco tools,Tarte,Crazy Rumors lip balm.

This is a great tool but I think it would be even more beneficial and helpful to know what companies do perform animal testing and the extent of that testing

It NEEDS updated! There are so many cruelty free companies not added

Lush partnered with Humane Society International and petitioned the EU to be cruelty free by 2013. . .in 2012, and Lush still isnt showing up as bunny approved.

This apps last revision was over a year ago. Would be nice to have an updated list on a regular basis.

An app that lists brands that are not tested on animals (cruelty-free)

The app is good, but is missing more cruelty-free brands. Like elf, Wet n Wild, EM cosmetic etc. There is no point of using it if doesnt have the known brands.

I love the scanner option but when I tried to scan some popular skin scare products it says "sorry, no company matches this barcode. Try the search instead". Its not clear if that means that the company is not animal cruelty free. In that case I think it should have say "this company is not cruelty free". I hope they will improve this app.

The barcode scanner wont work. Also missing some brands that are cruelty free. But overall handy if youre looking for some more information on cruelty free products or a new cleanser or lipstick or whatever.

This app really needs some research done before labeling it as cruelty-free. The Body Shop is not cruelty free as its a branch of Loreal, just 1 example of many. Quite disappointed...

A lot of the companies on here have parent companies that test on animals.(toms, the body shop, etc.) Companies that dont have cf parent companies dont count and should be taken off this list. Some big companies that should be on here arent. Where is method, the hand soap?
